Guardianship in Nebraska has changed.  The reporting requirements for guardians/conservators has also changed resulting in more information which must be provided to the court and other interested parties. Qualifying as a new guardian/conservator will be more difficult and will include extensive background checks and mandatory bonds. This educational event will focus on the forms and procedures arising from the new guardianship/ conservatorship laws which became effective January 1, 2012. These laws were enacted by the Nebraska legislature in response to several widely publicized cases of fraud.
