ADVOCACY ALERT: Autism Insurance for Nebraska
Announcements. 5 January 2011 @ 7:35 pm.Lorri Unumb, Senior Policy Advisor and Council for Autism Speaks, will be hosting a lunch and learn on Wednesday January 12th in Omaha from 11am – 1pm.. The topic is Insurance Coverage for Autism in Nebraska. She will discuss how Autism Insurance Reform has now been passed in 23 states and is currently pending in the legislative sessions of 14 additional states.
Nebraska cannot be the last, so please join us in learning about the “game plan for Nebraska”. Your attendance is critical –the key to the success of this bill being passed is a grassroots effort by parents, families, and friends. Without our support this bill will not pass. The parents have been the critical key component in passage in every state.
Several organizations and families in Nebraska are working to put a bill in place for this session to mandate Insurance Reform across the state of Nebraska – but again they need your help.
The January 12th Lunch and Learn will be held at:
Christ the King Parish Center
831 South 88th Street
Omaha, NE 68114
Please join your fellow Nebraska autism community members to discuss this important reform for Nebraska and how you can help.
Please RSVP to Sam at Autism Action Partnership at sarmstrong@autismaction.com so we can get an accurate count for lunch.
Christ the King has been kind enough to let us use their comfortable parish center for our meeting. The Christ the King Parish Center is located on the North side of Countryside Village. Countryside Village is the shopping center at 88th and Pacific. Just on the north side, you will see the Christ the King school, track, church and parish center at 88th and Shamrock.
