KEARNEY: Challenger Baseball
Resources. 18 March 2010 @ 11:09 pm.The Challenger Baseball program is a division of Kearney Little League Baseball that is open to youth ages 5 through high school graduation who have a physical or mental challenge that prevents them from safely participating in other baseball programs. Rules are modified in the Challenger division and a focus is placed on having fun, while learning the game of baseball. To ensure safety, each player is assigned a “buddy” to assist them. The game is played with a soft baseball and each player has the opportunity to bat and field balls. Again this year, with a combined effort on behalf of the Kearney Little League Baseball and the Arc of Buffalo County, we hope to give several youth the opportunity to enjoy the great game of baseball.
Challenger Baseball will take place one evening per week for a six week session this summer. Dates, times and field locations will be announced in the upcoming weeks as Kearney Little League prepares their schedules.
