Autism Training Series - “Treatment Approaches: Introduction to Evidence Based Practices”

Time:  6 - 7:30 pm

Location:  St. Ann’s Parish Center, 1003 Taft Street, Lexington, NE

Presented by UNMC Munroe Meyer Institute’s Dept of Pediatric Psychology

Description:  The Nebraska Parent Training Workshop is an intensive 10 week workshop series designed to educate, provide training and offer support to parents or caregivers of children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.   Training topics will include:

02/09/09 - Treatment Approaches:  Introduction to Evidenced Based Practices

02/16/09 - Components of Effective Treatment Programs

02/23/09 - Reinforcement

03/02/09  - Discrete Trial Training

03/09/09 - Managing Problem Behaviors

03/16/09 - Teaching in the Natural Environment

03/23/09 - Social Skill Instruction

03/30/09 - Working with Professionals & Accessing Additional Services

04/06/09 - TBA (based on interest of the group)

Child care will be provided by volunteers an directed by a staff with experience working and interacting with children with autism.
